PARENT INFORMATION SHEET

 

Thank you for registering your child for the FCAA Baseball/Softball Summer 2010 season.  Some basic informational facts have been listed below showing approximate timelines of the upcoming month’s events.

 

February

-   Coaches and Assistant coaches are selected by the FCAA Board Members.

-   Team drafts take place with the coaches/assistant coaches

-   Teams are finalized and verified against District 19 rules/regulations

March

-   (March 1st) Final team rosters with coaches and assistant coaches are submitted to District 19

-   Mandatory Coach/Assistant Coach Meeting takes place.  Coach Binders are given out; basic rules are reviewed, ground maintenance is explained, umpire program, and FCAA

-   Each child who registered should be contacted by his or her coach by the end of the month.

April

-   Team practices may begin. This is dependent on each coach and when they decide to begin.  Depending on the division, practices may not begin until late April.

-   District 19 schedule is received by the end of April by FCAA Board.

May

-   Games are assigned to ball diamonds by FCAA Scheduling Committee.

-   Team schedules are printed and verified by the FCAA Board.

-   Team schedules are distributed to each coach who then will distribute to the parents/guardians.  

-   FCAA Picture Day is held

-   Mid-month:  FCAA Ball Season begins; first games are played.

June

-   Games are played.

-   Rainouts must be rescheduled by the home coach team within one week of the rainout or the game will not be played.

July

-   Games continue and end early to mid-July

-   Final team games scores are due to FCAA by July 31st to submit to District 19 for team standings/trophies. 

August

-   Freeburg Homecoming FCAA Hamburger/French Fry Stand – One parent or guardian of each player is required to work one shift per player at the homecoming.  The team coach will contact you with the date/time you are to work.  The schedule is also posted via the website and in the Freeburg Tribune the week prior to the homecoming.
