NOTE: Email address is required to enhance the communication between the board and the coaches throughout the season. All coaches are asked to check their email weekly throughout the season.

Umpire Regulations / Code of Conduct

· The home team must supply the umpire of the correct age. The home team will forfeit the game if the umpires are not the correct age. The game can continue as a practice or scrimmage game.

· All umpires are required to familiarize themselves with the Association Rules, Official Rules of Baseball and Official Rules of Softball.

· Umpires are responsible to be sure of the date, time and location of the game to which they are assigned.

· Umpires will arrive at the playing field 20-30 minutes before the scheduled start of the game to check for hazards which may affect the playing of game.

· Before each game, the umpires and managers from each team will meet to discuss the ground rules. These rules will be clearly defined so there will be no doubt as to an umpire’s decision based on the ground rules.

· Umpires will not allow any deviation from the rules of the Association or the Official Rules governing any scheduled Association game.

· Umpires are a representative of both the league and the game and are required to enforce the rules.

· Any non-certified umpire calling balls and strikes must be in full umpire equipment. Anyone 17 or under umpiring for Atoms or Petites must wear a face mask.

· Umpires must sign both home and visiting team scorebooks with their signature and phone number after each game played.

I have read and understand the above Code of Conduct and will abide by it at all times. I understand that umpiring is a privilege and that I may loose this privilege if I violate the conduct requirements above.
